Make-up for this party season, like this by Middle Eastern pro make-up artist, Arabia Felix, has gone full-on reflective. From glass to glitter, foil and shimmer, it’s your time to shine.
The K-beauty glass skin trend has moved its focus to eyes. This season’s glossy lids look, seen at the Richard Quinn show, was created using Jillian Dempsey Lid Tint in Dew, a non-sticky, vegan, wet look balm that can also be used on lips. Wear it for a modern ‘oiled lid’ look or on top of eyeshadow to give any shade a glassy sheen.
Full-on glitter make-up at Christmas is as traditional as mince pies. Though you might still be vacuuming it up come Easter, it’s a small price to pay for the sheer visual punch. Our favoured brand is Disco Dust: it’s biodegradable and comes in mix of large and small sizes for max shine.
The futuristic style of full metal make-up is undeniable. Foil, as a texture, is high shine, slick and lends a seasonal sheen to any make-up look. The k-beauty brand Touch in Sol’s Metallist Duos combine a high shine foil finish at one end of the wand with shimmer creme at the other.
For a subtle starry effect that’s less sequin-y than Strictly, a subtle wash of shimmer will still put you in the party mood. For low-lights rather than highlights, try Jillian Dempsey Lid Tint in Glimmer, worn on its own or on top of other eyeshadow colours. For natural looking colour and shimmer on lips, Winky Lux Lip Glimmer Balm in Silver or 24k Gold react to the skin’s natural pH to tint lips a subtle shade of pink.
