We asked three BeautyMART experts – a make-up artist, hairstylist and facialist – to enlighten us with some pro tips and tricks. And because Millie is obsessed with Mexican food, she wanted to know their favourite taco. Here are their answers:
Jillian Dempsey – the Hollywood make-up artist whose clients include Kristen Stewart and Jennifer Lawrence.
Tip? Remember your neck shade: I often see women with foundation that’s darker on their face than neck. To match them up, either make sure you blend your foundation down your neck, or use a bronzing powder on the neck to even it all out.
Trick? Here’s two ways to make eyes pop: use a flesh toned pencil (e.g. Charlotte Tilbury Rock ‘n’ Kohl Eye Cheat) on the lower water-line – it makes eyes look open wide and eliminates any pinky-red tones. You can also add iridescence to the center of the eyelids with a light coloured metallic finish eyeshadow such as my Lid Tint in Glimmer and/or the inner corners of the eyes with a sideways ‘v’ shape.
Taco? Sorry Millie but I’m a burrito girl. Poquito Mas makes the best on the West Coast.
Su-Man – celebrity facialist with an East/West approach who has touched 10,000 faces including actresses Olga Kurylenko and Juliette Binoche.
Tip? Natural exfoliating fruit enzymes in watermelon and papaya in my Refining Facial Polish help resurface the skin without irritating it, and allow follow-on products to work better.
Trick? A drop of tea tree oil helps dry spots and speeds healing.
Taco? I prefer a tortilla filled with mixed beans and vegetables.
Wendy Iles – celebrity hairstylist who numbers Heidi Klum and Cheryl Cole among her starry clientele.
Tip? Styling products like hairspray and mousse block the hair’s natural memory. I developed Iles Formula Finishing Serum that respects the hair’s memory, never weighing it down but also protecting from heated appliances, UV, colour fade and humidity.
Trick? With Iles Formula Finishing Serum hair is like putty in your hands so it will do whatever you want it to!
Taco? I’m not keen on tacos, but I love a good pizza. My favourite is a Margherita – simple, with a thin crust.
